Jennifer Joanna Aniston is an American actress, film director, and producer. Was born in Sherman Oaks, California, on February 11, 1969. The daughter of soap opera star John Aniston and actress Nancy Dow. Jennifer had her first taste of acting at age 11 when she joined the Rudolf Steiner School's drama club. Aniston began appearing in stage productions in the late 1980s. She attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, where she was active in drama. After graduation, she appeared in such Off-Broadway productions as "For Dear Life" and "Dancing on Checker's Grave". In 1989, she landed her first television role, as a series regular on "Molloy" (1989). After several minor film and television roles, Aniston hit Hollywood gold by playing Rachel Green on the hit NBC sitcom Friends. Friends was a huge success, with the nation even dubbing Aniston's signature hairstyle on the show as the "Rachel." She stayed with Friends for 10 years, banking $1 million per episode for the last three seasons, until the show ended in 2004. She won a Golden Globe, an Emmy Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award during her tenure on the show.

Aniston has also enjoyed a successful Hollywood film career. She gained critical acclaim for her performances in the independent films She's the One (1996), Office Space (1999), The Good Girl (2002) and Friends with Money (2006). Other films include 2004's Along Came Polly opposite Ben Stiller, Derailed and Rumor Has It. She has had her greatest commercial successes with the films Bruce Almighty (2003), blockbuster romantic dramedy The Break-Up (2006), Marley & Me (2008), Just Go with It (2011) and Horrible Bosses (2011). Aniston received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on February 22, 2012.

Aniston married actor Brad Pitt in 2000. The A-list couple divorced in 2005 following media speculation that Pitt had an affair with co-star Angelina Jolie. Aniston has since been linked with The Break-Up co-star Vince Vaughn, musician John Mayer and SNL cast member Jason Sudeikis.

In August 2012, Aniston announced her engagement to American actor and director Justin Theroux, who is best known for his roles in several comedy films, including 2005's Strangers with Candy, 2011's Your Highness and 2012's Wanderlust, which also stars Jennifer Aniston. Aniston and Theroux met while filming Wanderlust. It was reported in 2013 that Aniston and Theroux had postponed their wedding plans due to a difference in location preferences. While Aniston wants to live in Los Angeles, Theroux wants to live in New York City.
